"Israeli" housing minister Uri Ariel declared the establishment of a new settlement called ‘Leshem'.

According to a report in Maariv, 72 families of settlers will move into their homes in Leshem, where the plan is to build around 400 more housing units in the settlement
The paper pointed out in Monday's issue, that the declaration of a new settlement comes in light of the current negotiations.

“Israel” Declares New Settlement ‘Leshem’Commenting on the so-called peace talks, Ariel said "There are no two states west of the Jordan River, and there won't be two states, even if there are negotiations taking place - this is not on the agenda."

Also, the Jerusalem municipality's finance committee approved on Sunday a budget for development of a new neighborhood of 1,500 housing units in Ramat Shlomo, which lies beyond the Green Line. The NIS 62.4-million budget will be allocated to the construction of infrastructure in the planned neighborhood.
Palestinian researcher in settlement affairs in al-Quds, Ahmad Sab Laban said in a press conference "This new approved settlement project" has become almost into effect."

The settlements are considered illegal by international law and because they are built on lands occupied in the 1967 war, they are therefore subject to the Geneva Convention, which prohibits construction on occupied territories.
