Scholarly Council Dubbed ‘Illegal Network’, Judiciary Summons its Members: Bahrain

The Bahraini Ministry of Justice has called for an end to the Scholarly council's activities and considered it as an illegal network, and summoned its members to the judiciary, reported sources.
Scholarly Council Dubbed ‘Illegal Network’, Judiciary Summons its Members: Bahrain Senior members of the council including Majid Masha'al, Sheikh Mahmoud Al-A'ali and Muhsen Al-Qarifi are among those summoned.
Earlier this month, the office of Bahrain's public prosecutor had summoned a top Shia al-Wefaq Party leader to court over his anti-government remarks.
Bahrain has been the scene of an uprising that began in mid-February 2011, when the people started holding massive peaceful demonstrations in the Persian Gulf country.
The Bahraini government promptly launched a brutal crackdown on the peaceful protests with the help of Saudi-led Arab forces from neighboring Persian Gulf states.
Tens of people have been killed in the crackdown, and the security forces have arrested hundred others.
