“Israeli” Top Army General: Hizbullah Competent Enemy, Al-Assad Showed Significant Strength
Local Editor
Northern "Israeli" Commander Major General Yair Golan warned that, "Hizbullah is a competent enemy."
He further advised any soldier that "no one should underestimate Hizbullah," "claiming that, ""Israeli" army knows how to fight as it has a fierce power."
"As I urge not to underestimate our enemy, it is forbidden for us to underestimate our capacities too. The battles we have seen in al-Qusayr town in Syria proved that we have an equal power."
In remarks to "walla" "Israeli" website, Golan predicted that "the battle with Hizbullah will be way fiercest than before, it will cause huge damages and more casualties inside "Israel"."
However, Golan tried to assure the Zionist entity by saying: "The more Hizbullah uses force against "Israel", the more the response would be harsh and lethal."
"Our army is experienced and able to deal with Hizbullah missiles; however it will have to reach to the missile store locations such as the towns and the civilians' houses," he added.
The "Israeli" wondered, "If Hizbullah party has the capacities, does it have the will? Nowadays it does not have it; but this might change according to the latest developments and circumstances. This means we have to be on high alert in order to fight any war against Hizbullah and its allies."
"How will we respond and how much force we will use, it will be hard to predict so soon." He added.
In a response to a question, Golan commented "Every time they say that [Hizbullah Secretary Sayyed Hassan] Nasrallah is hiding, they wait for an insult or a sarcastic smile, but no not me, because we have to deal with Hizbullah party as a serious enemy and we have to deliberately be ready to fight."
On the Syrian front, the "Israeli" commander estimated that the "concerning the current situation, the fighting will continue for months if not years."
"There are those who underestimated the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for being an ophthalmologist, with a weak view, but it turned out to be that he is tougher than his father," he viewed.
Moreover, he viewed that "al-Assad shows excellent and significant ability to face pressures."
