’Israeli’ Army: Latest WB Attacks Very Alarming
Local Editor
The "Israeli" army expressed concern over the recent incidents and operations in the West Bank.
In this context, an officer said that "the latest attacks are an alarming sequence of events which show that Palestinian Authority Arabs are very much motivated to carry out attacks."
"We view the attempted attack tonight very seriously and are prepared for future similar incidents," said the official, referring to the tractor operation that was thwarted near Occupied al-Quds on Thursday evening.
In that operation, a Palestinian aged about 30 broke into an "Israeli" army base driving a tractor.
He succeeded in breaking through the base's fence before the "Israeli" soldiers fired and martyred him.
Following the incident, which took place between Occupied al-Quds and Ramallah, "Israeli" officials expressed fear that the "attacks in the West Bank will continue".
According to the "Israeli" investigation, "just before 7 pm a tractor approached the main gate of the base, which serves an Artillery Corps battalion. The soldier guarding the gate walked toward the mechanical digger, at which point the man stepped on the gas and tried to run him over."
"The soldier jumped out the way at the last second, but the man wouldn't give up. He turned around and tried to run over the soldier again and again," a senior officer in said. "At this point the Palestinian raced toward the guard post, where the soldier fled to, and rammed into it with the soldier inside, knocking it a few meters forward. The soldier sustained light injuries to his leg."
