’Israel’ to Demolish Five Homes in East al-Quds
Local Editor
The "Israeli" municipality Wednesday handed out demolition orders for five Palestinian houses in the East al-Quds (Jerusalem) neighborhood of Silwan under the pretext of building without permit, according to the home owners.
They said that a municipality staff backed by police handed the residents the demolition orders for their homes all built in 2002.
The demolition of the five houses will displace around 50 Palestinians.
Owners said they tried to obtain building permits for their homes without any success.
Residents said that all houses in that area, around 30 homes, are threatened with demolition under the same pretext.
