Jazayeri: France’s Role in Iran Talks Ridiculous

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri lambasted French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius for his negative role in the talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 [the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany].

In this context, he described France roles as "ridiculous".

"France is playing the only role given to it and it seems that Paris is playing this role in a ridiculous manner," General Jazayeri said.
He further stated: "France's role has been fully exposed, it is showing this kind of behavior on the basis of a premeditated plan and it is exactly similar to the behavior that the Zionist regime has recently shown."

In parallel, the Iranian top military official reiterated that the recent developments in the negotiations between Iran and the six world powers has revealed insincerity of the Group 5+1 more than before.

Many Iranian officials have lashed out at France for pursuing the US and Zionists' policies in the recent nuclear talks in Geneva, and expressed regret that the French government is controlled by foreign states.
"The French government raised issues on behalf of the Zionist regime and the US during the negotiations in Geneva," Vice-Chairman of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mansour Haqiqatpour told FNA on Tuesday.
"The Americans had assigned France to exercise the policies of the White House in the Geneva negotiations in order that Washington can maintain its diplomatic gesture" and show to the world that it is fond of diplomacy and negotiation, he added.

 Fabius, who was not invited to the Geneva talks, called Ashton urging that he needs to be present there. Surprised Ashton was then forced to call in Fabius's British and German counterparts to the talks as well.
Fabius appeared on several media and warned that "Israel's" "concerns" must be taken into consideration.

"It is necessary to take fully into account "Israel's" security concerns and those of the region," Fabius told France Inter radio in Geneva early on Saturday at the beginning of the third day of talks between Iran and the world powers.
