Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri met Monday the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
Berri is also expected to hold talks Monday with Iranian President Hasan Rouhani focusing on bilateral ties and regional developments.
The Speaker, who arrived in Tehran Sunday, also discussed parliamentary cooperation, bilateral ties and current developments with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani.
After the meeting, Berri described the agreement as "the deal of the generation."
"The deal of the century that was reached yesterday was a great opportunity that Iran reached through its patience, courage, wit, strength and resilience and it is a chance [allowing] Iran to get over a lot of issues," Berri said speaking from Tehran during a joint press conference with Larijani.
"I discussed [with Larijani] and will discuss with other officials how this patience can [influence other issues and countries] mainly in Syria and in the [Iranian and] Arab ties.
The speaker also addressed last week's deadly attacks on the Iranian Embassy in the Beirut neighborhood of Bir Hasan and said that al-Qaeda was behind the assault "that all Lebanese sides condemned."
"The explosion was carried out by two terrorists from al-Qaeda and they were identified as a Lebanese and a Palestinian national," he added.
For his part, Larijani deemed his talks with Berri as "constructive", saying they addressed bilateral relations and sensitive regional affairs.
"What Speaker Berri suggested is a deep approach based on laying the foundations of friendship between Iran and Arab and Muslim countries," Larijani said according to a live translation.
In parallel, the top Iranian official said that his country is seeking "solid long-term" ties with Arab neighbors with "arms wide open" but that "some are trying to destabilize such ties."
On Sunday, Berri described an agreement reached between world powers and Iran over its nuclear program as "a political nuclear bomb," hoping that the deal would facilitate the achievement of a political solution for the Syrian crisis.
