"Israeli" Former minister Benny Begin announced Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepted his proposal to suspend the Prawer Bill for destroying al-Naqab Bedouin villages.

’Israel’ Drops Prawer BillBegin said in a press conference Thursday that the move to stop the plan to resettle Bedouins in al-Naqab was justified, and the initial political response the plan received was only politicians trying to stir controversy for political gain.

Netanyahu's office responded: "Benjamin Netanyahu thanks former minister Benny Begin for his many efforts on the resettlement of Bedouin in the al-Naqab.

He undertook this national objective with confidence and commitment, which are worthy of appreciation. We will continue to act to solve this important issue for all of the residents of the region."
Begin said the Bedouin population is the "most mistreated population in "Israel"," and that there needs to be a solution to the problem "within a short time, just a few years."

The bill, which would have seen the demolition of some 40 Bedouin villages in al-Naqab and the relocation of between 30,000 and 40,000 people, passed a preliminary ministerial vote in January.

For his part, "Israeli" Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman posted on his Facebook page that the "Israeli" government "should re-examine the plan and consider a far-reaching plan that would annul the benefits the Bedouin were to receive."

The move comes less than two weeks after worldwide protests against the plan, during which "Israeli" police and soldiers clashed with demonstrators, injuring and arresting dozens across the Zionist entity and the West Bank.
