Eurosceptic and far-right parties show a major progress in the European Parliament elections in several countries on Sunday.


The turnout for the EU parliament elections has reached until now around 43.7 % across 28-nation party, sources stated.
In Germany, exit polls have showed that Chancellor Angela Merkel's Conservative Christian Party has gained the majority of votes.

In France, exit polls have showed that the far-right National Front gained around 25% of votes.

In Greece, the Syriza party is slightly in the lead with 26% of votes.
In Denmark, anti-immigrant Danish People's Party has won the elections with 23 percent of the votes.

In Italy, Centre-left PM Matteo Renzi scores strong 40%.
In Britain, Eurosceptic UKIP took the first place, with 27% of votes.

The European Union stated that results of the elections across European countries will be released by the end of Monday.

Across the board, the Centre-right European People's Party was set to win 212 out of the 751 seats, with 28.23% across the bloc, according to estimated results issued by the European Parliament.
