’Israeli’ Military Preferring to Alter Occupied West Bank Operation into Intelligence Gathering
Local Editor
The war establishment is reaching the conclusion that the occupied West Bank operation to locate three Zionists who went missing on June 12 is preferring to shift to intelligence gathering, as the "Israeli" Haaretz website wrote on Monday.
The "Israeli" military prefers to shift focus to intelligence gathering, as it is concerned by the recent increase of Palestinian casualties, Haaretz wrote on Monday.
Senior politicians who spoke with top officials in the "Israeli" War Forces and War Ministry in recent days got the impression that the "Israeli" War Forces sees it will soon have to change the nature of the operation that was to said have began in response to three Zionists who went missing on June 12 in the occupied West Bank.
However, during the first week of the "Israeli" operation, the political leadership expanded its goals. Alongside the search for the Zionists, a broad wave of arrests was made, including the detention of over 300 Hamas members.
Additionally, the "Israeli" War Forces also raided institutions affiliated with Hamas and the organization's civilian infrastructure.
"Israeli" soldiers also entered Palestinian cities and towns in numbers not seen there in years, which led to frequent violent clashes with the "Israeli" War Forces.
The "Israeli" soldiers have martyred up to five Palestinians during the operation.
Haaretz said it seems most of the Hamas activists on the lists that were prepared by the "Israeli" War Forces and Shin Bet security service for arrest have already been taken in. It added that with many arrested, it will be difficult to marshal enough convincing evidence to put them on trial.
Furthermore, Haaretz said that only a few of those detained are suspected of actually participating in "terrorist" activity.
