A Palestinian was martyred early Wednesday in clashes which broke out when "Israeli" troops stormed a West Bank refugee camp near Ramallah.
Palestinian medics and security sources named him as Taysir Qatari, 22, and said he had been hit in the chest by gunfire after Zionist soldiers entered al-Amari camp.
An "Israeli" army spokeswoman confirmed troops had entered the camp on a mission to arrest a Hamas resistance man, claiming they came under attack by a group of some 50 Palestinians with "rocks, Molotov cocktails and burning tires."
"They identified one Palestinian who tried to throw an explosive device at them so in response they opened fire," she said, indicating he was hit and evacuated for medical treatment but later died.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian detainee died in an "Israeli" hospital on Tuesday, a Palestinian official said.
The head of the Prisoner Affairs Committee said Raed al-Jabari, 35, died in "Israel's" Soroka Medical Center after being moved there early Tuesday.
Issa Qaraqe, the former Minister of Prisoner Affairs, held "Israel" responsible for al-Jabari's life and demanded an investigation into the cause of his death.
Al-Jabari was being detained in Ofer jail before being moved to Eshel prison, and Qaraqe said he was "tortured while being transferred."
Abd al-Salam al-Jabari, the prisoner's father, blamed the Zionist entity for killing his son and demanded an immediate investigation.
Al-Jabari spoke to his wife and children on Sunday and was in a good physical condition, his father said.
"Israeli" Prisons spokeswoman Sivan Weizman claimed he had hanged himself in a bathroom at Eshel prison.
Around 7,000 Palestinians are currently being held in "Israeli" prisons, more than 2,000 of whom were arrested over the summer alone.
In response, the Palestinian detainees started Wednesday a mass hunger strike in response for al-Jabari's death.
