Palestinian Unity Gov’t Set for First Cabinet Meeting in Seized Gaza

The new Palestinian unity government is due to hold its first Cabinet meeting in the seized Gaza Strip on Thursday.
Palestinian Authority prime minister Rami Hamdallah described the meeting as a "historic opportunity."
"Our message to our people in [seized] Gaza is about bringing back hope, uniting institutions and reconstruction. The Palestinian national project is incomplete without [seized] Gaza, and the president gave clear instructions last night to the government confirming that we should rebuild [seized] Gaza," he said.
"It's our responsibility to provide work opportunities for Gaza workers, and we will overstep external challenges with good will," he added.
Moreover, minister of civil affairs Hussein al-Sheikh said that the Palestinian Authority [PA] is exerting efforts to obtain permits for Gazan workers to enter "Israel", a move likely to be approved next week.
Additionally, minister of agriculture Shawqi al-Ayasa said that the unity government is prepared to rebuild what "Israel" destroyed during its recent 50-day military aggression against seized Gaza.
