The Lebanese army also seized arms belonging to militants and dismantled 3 booby-trapped cars in several areas across the north, the military announced in a statement on Sunday.
The army is now in full control of the Minnyeh, the National News Agency [NNA] reported, noting that several militants were arrested during the operation.
The Lebanese Armed Forces Orientation Directorate issued a statement saying: "Army forces continue their raids and pursuit of militants in Bhannine, where this morning a third booby trapped car was discovered along with a depot containing a large amount of arms and ammunition in addition to fifty explosive devices set to blow up."
Earlier, it released another statement, announcing that army units expanded their area of deployment in the town of Bab-Tabbaneh, responded to fire, and searched the premises for terrorist militias.
Furthermore, the communiqué stated that a military force raided at dawn on Sunday the Salam school in Bhannine where militiamen were hiding. Many of them were injured and others were arrested while the rest fled.
Moreover, six Lebanese soldiers have been martyred in ongoing battles between the Lebanese army and militants in Tripoli for the third day in a row on Sunday, as the army vowed to eliminate all "terrorist cells" threatening Lebanon and its security.
