Speaking to al-Akhbar Lebanese newspaper, al-Muallem said that Syria has never received S300 missiles from Russia, but was confident that Russia would this time provide Damascus with the advanced systems.

Concerning the Syrian-Iranian relations, al-Muallem confirmed that "nothing can undermine Iran-Syria profound and strategic relations."

He said Iran had not pressured the Syrian government to change its approach towards Hamas or Muslim Brotherhood.

The Syrian FM called on certain regional states to avoid supporting anti-Damascus terrorist groups.

"Turkish conditions for intervention in Syria are still rejected by Washington," he said noting that, "KSA, the main rival to Turkey in this camp- is also not satisfied with this intervention."
He further added: "This camp suffers from contradictions as the internal Turkish front is fragile in face of a strong Kurdish rebellion."

Al-Muallem also stressed that his country's strategic decision is to confront any Turkish military aggression.

In parallel, he highlighted that "Kobane and its citizens are Syrian. We were and will continue to provide it with supplies, weapons and ammunition. Before the Americans start their airstrikes, we started to strike the "ISIL" gatherings, but we were forced to stop because there is no field coordination with the Americans."

"There is no coordination between Syria and the US," he reiterated, noting that, "They [Americans] contacted our representative to the United Nations, Bashar al-Jaafari, through Baghdad and Moscow, informing him that the coalition's strikes are exclusively directed against the "ISIL", and that they will not affect the Syrian army."

On the Saudi position against Syria, al-Muallem stated: "KSA has supported and continues to support the terrorist armed groups. They continue to show hostility against Syria and its President Bashar al-Assad. This policy is adventurous, and it will in the end with harm to Saudi Arabia."
