Protests in Northern Occupied Territories after Zionist Police Shooting of Palestinian Youth
The shooting of a Palestinian man by Zionist police brought crowds onto Kfar Kana's streets where around 2,500 people protested the brutality.
Shops, schools and business shuttered as towns and villages observed protests in the occupied land.
Zionist police raised the alert to one below the highest level and deployed in areas of friction, spokeswoman Luba Samri said.
Up to twenty people were arrested, Samri added.
The protests began early Saturday after police shot and martyred a 22-year-old in Kfar Kana near the northern city of al-Nasirah.
Khair al-Din Rouf Hamdan, 22, in the al-Khalil region of occupied Palestine was martyred on Saturday, after being shot in the chest by the Zionist police during an arrest raid.
According to locals in al-Khalil, Hamdan was shot and martyred after police attempted to arrest his cousin.
Relatives said Hamdan was martyred "in cold blood".
Following the incident, locals in the village had announced a general strike in protest against the martyrdom.
"Israeli" troops frequently carry out raids in villages in the occupied territories, and have abducted hundreds of Palestinians without charge during such raids.
