The Nigerian army said on Sunday that it has recaptured the northeastern town of Chibok, where militants abducted more than 200 schoolgirls in April.
The army recaptured the town from Boko Haram militants late Saturday, spokesman General Olajide Olaleye said in a phone message.
"Mopping up ops ongoing. [The] town is now secured," he said.
In Bauchi state on Sunday, a female suicide bomber blew herself up at a market in the town of Azare, killing at least 13 people, police said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
Meanwhile, Bauchi in northeast Nigeria neighbours the three states most affected by attacks from Boko Haram militants.
