Lebanese Army Bolsters Positions in Country's East
Lebanese newspapers on Monday focused on the repercussions of the al-Nusra front political and military attack in Ras Baalbeck in the Bekaa region, also touched on the developments related to the Hizbullah-Future ongoing dialogue, not to mention further updates on the repercussions of the "Israeli" raid on the Golan's Qunaitra area.

Starting with the security file, an-Nahar newspaper quoted security sources as saying that the confrontations that took place in Baalbeck outskirts was one of the major battles to confront terrorism and the Lebanese army achieved a victory by repelling their attack.
The Lebanese army had fought off on Friday morning an attack launched by hundreds of takfiri terrorists on the way to Hamra hill in Ras Baalbek barrens, east of the country. The Lebanese Army on Friday firmly controlled Hamra hill on the barrens of Ras Baalbek, northeastern Lebanon, after expelling the terrorists who infiltrated into it in the morning. At least 40 militants were killed in the confrontations.
The source told the paper that "the heroic confrontation of the Lebanese army hampered the terrorist plan of taking over Ras Baalbeck area. The army had found documents with Giath Joma'a, a fighter who had joined Daesh two months ago, which revealed that the armed terrorists had three main goals:
First, launching an attack on the army centers in Hamra hill and Om Khaled hill, and heading towards the Ras Baalbeck Christian areas for killing, stealing, and taking hostages. Second, to open a route from Ras Baalbeck to the Qa'a region and then the Qusair where they would set up an emirate, while the third goal is to open a path especially that all ways from Arsal to the outskirts have been blocked.
More on the army battle, al-Binaa newspaper noted that the army soldiers kept terrorist fighters' corpses and transferred them to the Hermel governmental hospital, with a few belonging to leaders in the Nusra Front and Daesh terrorist groups [including the body of Daesh leader Giath Joma'a known as Abou Walid].
Furthermore, military sources told al-Binaa newspaper that "there is a big chance fierce battles might take place again in Baalbeck outskirts, because Friday's confrontation did not lead to the cleansing of the entire region; an accomplishment that might require a political decision of foreign dimensions and nature."
On a related topic, as-Safir newspaper noted on Monday that terrorist Shadi Mawlawi, one of Lebanon's most wanted extremist figures, has fled the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain al-Helwe to join the terrorist groups at the border with Syria.
Citing high-ranking sources, as-Safir did not determine when exactly did Mawlawi flee the camp, but it assured he escaped to hide with the extremist militants on the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Arsal.
The paper further questioned the means through which Mawlawi crossed the huge distance from Ain al-Helwe camp to the Syrian borders without being exposed or arrested.
For its part, al-Jomhouriya newspaper quoted parliamentary sources as saying that "the fourth dialogue session between Hizbullah and the Future party will take place today [Monday]", noting that the latest security developments related to the Lebanese army confrontation of the terrorist groups in Ras Baalbeck will be part of the session.
On the same note, an-Nahar Lebanese daily said the dialogue session awaits questions on the Future party stance, especially after Hizbullah again reiterated its adherence to the tripartite equation of the "Army-people-Resistance".
As for al-Akhbar newspaper, it focused on the repercussions of the Qunaitra attack on the Zionist arnea, noting that Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is scheduled to deliver a critical speech on Friday to declare the Resistance position of the Zionist aerial assault on the Hizbullah convoy in Syria's Quneitra.
The Zionist military targeted a Hezbollah convoy in the Golan Heights last Sunday by a rocket assault fired from armed helicopter.
The attack killed six fighters of Hezbollah, including field commander Mohammad Issa, Jihad Moughneih - son of the late senior commander martyr haj Imad Moughneih, assassinated by Zionist entity in Feb. 2008, Abbas Hjazi, Mohammad Ali Abu Al-Hassan, Ali Ibrahim and Ghazi Dawi.
