As-Safir newspaper said Friday that the Lebanese army and the Security Forces relaunched the security plan on Thursday in Western Lebanon's Bekaa region, with more than one thousand personals taking required procedures and executing inspection raids due to which it was able to arrest 10 wanted convicts and confiscate 18 stolen cars, according to the army directorate.

Also, al-Binaa Lebanese daily pointed out that well-informed sources had told the paper that the even though security plan should aim at arresting all outlaws and spread security across the region, particularly in a focus on car thefts, yet the sources iterated that the situation is not appropriate enough currently to carry out such wide operation.

In coincidence with the security plan, sources told the paper that security apparatuses have obtained information that groups belonging to the ‘Abdallah Azzam Brigades' are preparing for a series of explosions and firing missiles in one of the Lebanese cities and its outskirts, not to mention the intention to target one of the main highways connecting Beirut to one of the major cities.

Touching on the Ministerial council and its session that was held on Thursday, ministerial sources told an-Nahar newspaper that Prime Minister Tammam Salam, followed by numerous Ministers called on the necessity of electing a President for Lebanon, urging the Lebanese Parliament to end the void and stressing that they no longer accept the situation.

On another note, the daily quoted sources from March 14 saying that head of the Camp Saad Hariri will be delivering a speech on the memory of the former assassinated PM Rafiq Hariri, where the sources said Saad will focus on the national path of his father, and explain the importance of the Hizbullah-Future Dialogue despite the differences. In addition, Al-Binaa Lebanese daily, on this note, quoted informed sources that Saad Hariri will focus in his speech on common living and mutual understanding.

Also, an-Nahar came to know that head of the Lebanese Army, General Jean Qahwaji will leave mid-next week to Riyadh to taka part in the meeting to be held for the military leaders to the coalition against the so-called "ISIL".

For its part, al-Akhbar newspaper focused on the ongoing negotiations to set free the Lebanese abducted soldiers, who have been in the custody of al-Nusra Front in Arsal area. According to sources, the most important factor that has weakened the armed terrorists in Arsal is separating the area from its outskirts, which has so far proved to be a success.

Moreover, sources told the paper that the Lebanese army strikes in Arsal have been targeting the terrorist groups in an organized matter based upon information obtained on their movement and grouping in the region rather than haphazard bombing. More on the topic, al-Akhbar obtained information from sources that so-called IS has appointed a new Emir in the Qalamoun area, known as ‘Abu Ossama al-Baniyasi' as successor to ‘Abu al-Huda al-Homsi'.

Upon ongoing tension in the ministerial council during the session that was held on Thursday to further discuss the Presidential impasse, ministerial sources sarcastically told al-Liwaa newspaper that ‘it seems there need to be a security plan for the ministerial council itself.
