Papers on Thursday focused on recording the Saudi aggression on Yemen as it commits more massacres against the Yemen people, including women and children. Simultaneously, the dailies also shed light on the repercussions of the Nuclear deal between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the P5+1 countries and its direct message to the so-called coalition forces led by Saudi Arabia by cutting maritime path towards Bab al-Mandeb strait.
Syria had its share of attention, with focus on the decision of the Syrian Arab Army to launch a major campaign to regain Idlib, at the time also the Moscow II conference is in the spotlight, awaiting a solution to the crisis and confrontation to terrorism.
New Regional System Required --- Al-Jomhouriya
Analyst Ghassan Jawad writing for al-Jomhouriya newspaper says that observing the clauses of the deal between Iran and the P5+1 countries, one can conclude that the two sides have finished the technical part related to the peaceful nuclear program of Iran. He notes that the "declaration to a primary deal is a technical and political step on the path to a political declaration expected on the thirtieth of coming June."
Therefore, and as the author points out the three coming months will be busy with political, security ad military developments, a political rapprochement looms in the horizon between Iran and Turkey started with the visit of Turkish President Recep Teyyip Erdogan to Tehran.
But according to Jawad, such approach is not enough to find stability and security in the region, and therefore, the establishment of an Arab-Islamic regional system is vital to ensure the existential stability of regional countries topped by the Persian Gulf countries. Also, Iran is threatened by the continuous attempts of the West to destabilize it on the inside.
Hence, the analyst said there must exist a ‘settlement' between Iran and Saudi Arabia, which would encircle all attempts of sowing sectarian strife and instability.
Kerry to GCC: Launch the War Yourselves --- AS-SAFIR
As-Safir newspaper said that the impression of some officials visiting Washington is that the Americans, Egyptians, Emiratis and GCC countries all did not know about the Saudi decision to launch the ‘decisive storm' war.
More crucial than that, the paper noted that "A diplomatic source has revealed that the US Secretary of State John Kerry has told his Gulf counterparts -including Saud al-Faisal- during a meeting in Riyadh only a few days before Decisive Storm that nothing can stop the US from confronting Iran."
The source also said Kerry had repeated something rarely heard from the US government, quoting him "You always instigate us against Iran, and demand us to launch a war on your behalf, why don't you launch the war against [Iran] yourself."
AL-BINAA
Al-Binaa newspaper said that since the first days of the negotiations, Iran has been acting as a safeguard to security in the region despite the fact that it is harshly targeted, and knowing that Ansarullah in Yemen are being murdered along with women and children yet have not resorted to power to give space to political solutions. The paper points out that Iran, seeing Saudi Arabia enter its 12th day of aggression has made the initiative in an attempt to find a political solution to solve the crisis.
The paper noted that Iran is seriously preparing for an initiative to cooperate and consult with Russia, Turkey and Pakistan in order to pave the way for a shared-initiative to provide perhaps indirect negotiations with the Saudi Kingdom.
Iran Wants Sanctions lifted Immediately --- IRNA
Iran wants international sanctions lifted on the day of the implementation of an agreement with world powers on its nuclear program, President Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday.
"We will not sign any agreements unless on the first day of the implementation of the deal all economic
sanctions are totally lifted on the same day," Rouhani was quoted by IRNA.
Last week, Tehran and the six powers agreed on the framework of a deal to be signed by the end of June reining in Iran's nuclear program in return for the lifting of international sanctions.
The pace at which the sanctions will be lifted is one of the outstanding issues that still has to be agreed in the final accord.
Western governments, which have imposed their own sanctions over and above those adopted by the United Nations, have been pushing for it to happen only gradually.
On a related note, the special envoy of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Morteza Sarmadi, announced Wednesday from Beirut that Tehran's proposed military grant to Lebanon is still on the table, hoping the Lebanese will manage to find an "appropriate solution" to the presidential crisis.
"Now that the nuclear settlement has been achieved, if the Lebanese side believes that it can now receive the Iranian military grant to the valiant Lebanese army, we are fully ready to offer this donation on a silver platter," said Sarmadi, in response to a reporter's question.
The Iranian official, who arrived in Lebanon earlier in the day, was speaking after talks with Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil in Ashrafieh.
As for the stalled presidential election, Sarmadi hoped Lebanese officials will be able to find an "appropriate solution" in the coming period.
"We're fully confident that the Lebanese political leaderships, movement and parties have enough maturity and awareness that qualify them to find the appropriate solutions to the presidential crisis," added Sarmadi.
He also underlined that Tehran is "committed to its firm principled stance on noninterference in the domestic affairs of other countries," while noting that his country "encourages the Lebanese to reach this appropriate solution."
