Tackling Oil Dossier with Berri Again...

The Lebanese arena witnesses talk of "Israeli" theft of oil and gas yet again, at a time when nuclear negotiations witness an extension beyond the ‘end of June' deadline that was supposed to bring about a final deal between Iran and world powers. This takes place while battles in Syria against Takfiri groups continue, with major leaders of al-Nusra terrorist group killed. These topics, in addition to the ongoing presidential impasse and others have made the headlines of Lebanese newspapers on Monday.
"Israeli" Theft of Lebanese Maritime Riches Again! --- AS-SAFIR
Oil experts told As-SAfir newspaper that "Israel" is trying to distract Lebanon with the oil well Karish, whereas the more important one is the Tamar oil field located close to the Lebanese maritime borders and contains around 20 thousand billion square feet of natural gas.
Experts noted that the field certainly intersects with Lebanese regional waters, which constitutes a threat to Lebanese natural resources as it is subject to "Israeli" theft.
The paper also mentioned that Amos Hochstein, who serves as the Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs leading the Bureau of Energy Resources [ENR] at the US Department of State, will travel to Beirut this week.
The US official is expected to visit Beirut to discuss with top Lebanese officials the demarcation of the maritime border with "Israel", an issue which was thoroughly discussed by Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Speaker Nabih Berri over the weekend.
Lebanese officials have agreed to form a committee of experts which informed Washington and the United Nations that Lebanon holds onto the demarcation of its maritime border under the supervision of the UN. They also rejected any "Israeli" aggression on Lebanon's maritime and oil rights.
Lebanese officials have continuously warned that "Israel's" exploration of new offshore gas fields near Lebanese territorial waters means that "Israel" is tapping some of Lebanon's crude oil.
Resistance Changes Equation in Terrorism Scheme --- AL-BINAA
Security sources told al-Binaa Lebanese daily that "the painful hits the resistance carried out against the terrorist groups in the Qalamoun and Arsal barrens has led to the removal of Qalamoun from the picture of terrorism in Syria."
The sources said that these groups might to a great extent attempt to take revenge for the resistance's operations against them, doubting that they might succeed in their attacks. The sources also stressed that mutual cooperation between Hizbullah and the different Lebanese security apparatuses has been a major reason behind the uncovering of numerous terrorists who were planning to carry out terrorist operations, among which was a plan to detonate a car bomb in one of Beirut's areas. Also, security sources said that the situation in Lebanon is much better and more secure today than any other time, unlike rumors being spread across the country.
On this note, al-Binaa newspaper said Hizbullah's stance on the matter is reflected in the words of the Head of Hizbullah's Executive Council, Sheikh Nabil Qaouk, quoting him as saying "ISIL exists in Lebanon and the Arsal barrens because of those who provided it with facilitations and support, and these very same people are the ones who stand at the doors of embassies to get paid for the job.
Terrorists have resorted to all types of crimes, but eventually figured out that Lebanon is protected and fortified owing to the army-people-resistance formula."
Lebanese Cabinet Issues Should be Resolved: PM --- AL-LIWAA
Prime Minister Tammam Salam has confirmed that this week is crucial in deciding the date of a cabinet session which he intends to call for despite a lack of progress on controversial issues and in light of the presidential impasse. Al-Liwaa newspaper on Monday quoted Salam as saying that he "will continue his consultations with the representatives of political parties this week."
He stressed, however, that he will not give up the authorities granted to him by the constitution in the absence of a president.
"This week will not pass without a decision," Salam told his visitors. "The country can no longer tolerate paralysis."
The reports said Salam informed Speaker Nabih Berri during a meeting they held on Saturday that he would invite for a session before Eid al-Fitr which marks the end of Ramadan next month. Berri, on his part, was also quoted by al-Binaa as saying that he discussed several issues with Salam, mainly the cabinet paralysis.
