Saudi Helicopter Crash Kills Two on Yemen Border
Local Editor
Saudi authorities confirmed Saturday that a Saudi-led coalition helicopter had crashed in Yemen along the Saudi border, killing the two pilots.
In its statement published by the official SPA news agency, the coalition confirmed the death of the two pilots aboard the aircraft that crashed in the Yemen-Saudi borders.
The Statement further added that the Apache helicopter went down in the Jazan region of the Kingdom, adding that an inquiry had been launched into the causes of the crash.
Yemen's Ansarullah group said Friday night that they had shot down a Saudi Apache in the same region.
Moreover, Saba news agency cited a military source saying that the group had also destroyed six Saudi military vehicles in the area.
However, this was not the first time Saudi authorities acknowledged that their military aircrafts were being hit as an F-15S fighter jet crashed in the Red Sea on March 28.
The American-backed Saudi-led coalition has been conducting air strikes on Yemen since late March; the Saudi aggression has martyred and injured hundreds of Yemeni men, women and children.
