Only Solution in Syria Political --- AL-JOMHOURIA

Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fathali told al-Jomhouria newspaper on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran from the very beginning assured that the only solution to the Syrian crisis is a political solution.

The ambassador said that some have been hampering the process through transporting and smuggling terrorists from all over the world and providing them with equipment and arms.

"We believe these people have committed two mistakes, the first is that they have played a role in the American plot whether on purpose or not, and they were keen on implementing the US-"Israeli" plan, and the second is that they made the wrong calculations about Syria," the Iranian diplomat said.

Fathali assured that "history will register the favor done by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Hizbullah to this world, which is fighting terrorism."

He went on to say that if it were not for them, no one would have been able to imagine what the situation would have been like in Lebanon and the Middle East, or even Europe.

"This is why we believe that President Bashar al-Assad is the only choice to transcend the crisis of ISIL and takfiri terrorism in Syria."

Waste Management Crisis Solution in Progress --- AN-NAHAR

The waste management file is in progress, sources told the newspaper on Tuesday.

Agriculture Minister Akram Shehayyeb said Wednesday that his waste management plan is on the right track of implementation to resolve the country's two-month garbage crisis.

"We found a landfill on the eastern mountain range and we are working with the army and officials in the area" to strike a deal on its functioning, he said.

Preparations have also been made for the operation of the Srar landfill in the northern district of Akkar, he added.

The waste crisis erupted in July when Lebanon's largest landfill in Naameh was closed.

Trash began piling up on the streets of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, forcing the dumping of waste in makeshift sites and along the banks of rivers.

Russia to Support Syria, No Guarantees for ‘Israel' --- AL-BINAA

Al-Binaa newspaper said on Tuesday that ‘the visit of ‘Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Russia came to end soon right before the Russian stances started to flow on the importance of defending Russia's national security in face of the terrorist groups that have been flowing to Syria and return to Russia later on.'

The Lebanese daily quoted Russian sources as saying that Russia stressed there is no justification for ‘Israeli' flights in Syria's skies.

Netanyahu's concerns, according to the paper, was mainly his fears that Syria would benefit from the Russian protection to launch a war against ‘Israel'.

Russia has announced that it is ready to consider any request from the Syrian government for the dispatch of military forces to the Arab country, which is involved in heavy battles against foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants. Moscow has stressed that it will continue to support Damascus against terrorism.

Syrian People Back to Their Homes in Damascus's al-Taybeh --- AS-SAFIR

Field sources told As-Safir newspaper that the Syrian army had a plan to advance towards the heart of al-Taybeh area in the outskirts of Damascus, where a fierce battle has been taking place and came to an end owing to the organized military plan and efforts of the Syrian army for months.

Head of the Harjaleh Municipality in Damascus told As-Safir newspaper "we have entered the first stage of truc3e, where a full cease-fire took place. The second step which followed the truce was that the foreign terrorists would leave the area."

Following the three-stage process, which ended by resolving the situation of the villagers who had joined the terrorists and were granted clemency, the Syrian army entered the area to clear it from any mines and pave the way for the people to arrive back to their homes, said the official.

The foreign-sponsored conflict in Syria has reportedly claimed about 250,000 lives up until now.

The United Nations says the militancy has displaced more than 7.6 million Syrians internally, and compelled over four million others have fled the country to take refuge in neighboring states, including Jordan and Lebanon.
