Following intense battles in the central part of the country, the Syrian army has recaptured several towns from "ISIS" Wahhabi terrorists as it continued establishing control over new areas and destroying terrorists' headquarters and equipment and killing scores of them.
Units of the Syrian army and armed forces, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, established full control over Maheen town and Hawareen Village after destroying the last positions of "ISIS" terrorists in them in intensive military operations carried out in the southeastern countryside of the central Homs province, a military source said Monday.
SANA agency reported a source as saying that units of the army are combing the town and the village which are about 85 km to the southeast of Homs City, and they are dismantling the explosive devices planted by "ISIS" terrorists among houses of the citizens and at the roads and the agricultural lands.
Nonetheless, the Syrian army soldiers broke the towns' siege following an intense two-day battle against the "ISIS" militant group.
Accordingly, the UK-based so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights assured the liberation of Maheen and Hawareen towns on Monday.
Also, the government forces retook Sada, a predominantly Christian town in the eastern suburbs of Homs. The Syrian forces' next plan will be to recapture the city of Qaryatayn, which was seized by "ISIS" in early August.
Earlier Sunday, the Syrian Army Air Force conducted a series of strikes against positions and movements of "ISIS" terrorists in the two towns, destroyed their positions and killed all terrorists inside as well as destroying vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns.
The forces had recently been making rapid advances against the Takfiris, who are committing heinous crimes against all ethnic and religious groups, in several parts of the crisis-hit country.
The advances of the Syrian government forces against "ISIS" Wahhabi militia and other terrorist groups have been expedited by the air cover provided by Russia, which began on September 30 at the request of the Damascus government.
