Lebanese newspapers issued on Tuesday shed light on the latest "scandal" that had made headlines throughout the past week. Newspapers also focused on the presidential elections that should be a matter discussed during Wednesday's cabinet session.
The dailies touched on other issues, including the carcinogenic wheat, the visit of Mogherini to Lebanon and the interview with Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in which the viewer could clearly see how he vowed that "Israel" would open the doors of hell on itself if it gets into war against Lebanon.
AN-NAHAR: Lebanon Not Border Guard for European Continent!
High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs Frederica Mogherini told Lebanese officials that the promises made at the London conference to present aid to Lebanon for the Syrian refugees crisis will be fulfilled, yet a deadline has not been set for putting these commitments into action, reported An-Nahar newspaper on Tuesday.
Also, Mogherini was reported by An-Nahar as saying that the percentage of the aids allocated to Lebanon has not been determined yet, simultaneously stressing that the refugees in Lebanon should not be allowed to travel illegally to Europe.
Moreover, An-Nahar said Mogherini stressed it is important that the Lebanese elect a new president for their republic and as soon as possible.
The EU official visited on Monday al-Meiss camp that regroups 21 tents for Syrian refugees in Bar Elias, and underscored that the aim of her visit was to have a closer look at the living conditions of the Syrian refugees in the camps.
Mogherini lauded Lebanon's efforts in dealing with the refugee crisis, in which more than 25 percent of people in Lebanon are now seeking refuge from the war in neighboring Syria. She once again reiterated it is important not to allow the displaced Syrians to seek refuge in Europe through illegal traveling.
Meanwhile, and commenting on the demands of Mogherini to prevent the Syrians from leaving to Europe, Labor Minister Sejaan Qazzi frankly told An-Nahar newspaper "We are not border-guards to the European continent."
AL-JOMHOURIA: Internet Illegal Networks Go Unnoticed by State Radars
Parliamentarian sources told al-Jomhouria newspaper on Tuesday that the illegal internet networks have functioned for a very long time without being detected by the state's radars, knowing that the Lebanese state owns equipment that allows spotting any frequencies from illegal networks.
Sources also told the newspaper "We have no answer to why this scandal was revealed now and not earlier...this pushes us to question whether someone stood behind the illegal networks and can no longer carry its burdens."
According to the State-run news agency, the Parliamentary Media and Telecom Committee on Monday convened at the House of Parliament under the chairmanship of MP Hasan Fadlallah to explore the scandalous "Israeli" violation against the web network and illegal internet in Lebanon.
AL-BINAA: No Redlines for Resistance, Hariri Pushing to Elect President
Commenting on the live interview that was broadcast Monday night with Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, al-Binaa newspaper said that the words of Sayyed Nasrallah supported the equations of deterrence and ability to confront any "Israeli" war, and assured the resistance's confidence in winning any coming war.
"The speech is a reassurance that there is no roof, no limits, and no red lines to Hizbullah's ability to take control of any future war, and that the resistance is confident of its capabilities and owns the needed equipment [for any confrontation], even though Sayyed Nasrallah believes no war will be soon launched by "Israel"," the paper pointed out.
In an interview with al-Mayadeen tv on Monday, Sayyed Nasrallah threatened the "Israelis" of striking all their petrochemical factories, biological institutes and nuclear stores as well as facilities if the "Israeli" army launches a major war against Lebanon.
Sayyed Nasrallah considered that the logical, factual and realistic interpretation eliminates the possibility of any imminent "Israeli" war against Lebanon, but that if the "Israeli" officials decide to launch an adventure, the outcome may differ.
On another note, March 14 sources assured to al-Binaa that MP Saad Hariri is under increasing pressure towards electing a president before June, and is in fact working hard to provide quorum for April's session.
