Syrian Army Announces Shooting down ’Israeli’ Warplane, Drone in Quneitra

The Syrian army announced on Tuesday it had shot down an "Israeli" warplane and a drone in Syria after an "Israeli" aggression on a Syrian army position in southern Syria, state media reported.

SANA news agency said the warplane had attacked an army position at 1 a.m. on Tuesday in the southern Quneitra countryside. It and a drone were then shot down.
As "Israel" confessed that two missiles were fired at its planes during the air strike, Tel Aviv claimed that any of its aircraft was shot down in Syria.
"Israeli" spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner denied that a warplane was shot down.
He said that "overnight two surface-to-air missiles were launched from Syria after the mission overnight to target Syrian artillery positions. At no point was the safety of "Israeli" army aircraft compromised."
It remains unclear if "Israel" is also denying that a drone may have been shot down.
