Syrian antiquities chief said terrorists have demolished structure and part of Roman theatre after seizing city for second time.

Daesh [the Arabic acronym for the terrorists ‘ISIS/ISIL' group] fighters destroyed one of the most famous monuments in the ancient city of Palmyra.
Syria's antiquities chief, Maamoun Abdulkarim, said Daesh had demolished the Tetrapylon and damaged the facade of its Roman theatre.

The Takfiri group controls the site after capturing it in December for a second time from Syrian government forces.
Government troops and their militia allies, backed by Russia, had taken back the city from Daesh in March after losing it in 2015.
