Egypt and Syria commemorated the 8th anniversary of Lebanon's liberation on the Resistance and Liberation day. This great victory which the Lebanese resistance achieved proved to be a turning point in the history of Arab-'Israeli' conflict.
In Egypt, people expressed their faith that Hizbullah's resistance "is the defensive shield for the Arab nation."
"We pray for Hizbullah in Lebanon, we hope that they are always victors. The fruits of victory that was stained with the blood of martyrs and the suffering of the detainees and the injured drew a sample of the Arab resistance vigor to defeat the so-called 'undefeated army'," one Egyptian participant told Al-Manar.
"Whenever I see the great leader Sayyed Hassan talking with self-confidence fulfilling every promise he makes, I retain hope that there would be new Arab leaders who may achieve victories facing 'Israel's' arrogance", another Egyptian participant said.
In Syria, people see the victory achieved by Hizbullah in 2000 as the greatest triumph ever in the history of Arab-'Israeli' conflict. Syrians do not hide their deep admiration for the Islamic resistance and its leadership, especially for the Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. "Liberating the south is a matter of dignity and pride, a matter of people and a cause. We, in Syria, were and continue to believe in liberating all Arab territories", a Syrian participant said.
Moreover, Syrian People Council member Sheikh Zachariah Selwaya told Al-Manar channel that those who accuse the resistance of being sectarian "have diverted from resistance to bargaining. If they were honest they'd have stood by Hamas or the resistance in Iraq. The Resistance doesn't distinguish between Sunnis or Shiites", he said.
Syrian participants stressed that the "conspiracy to label the resistance in Lebanon a sectarian movement will not prove futile as Arab and Islamic stances in this regard have been based on perception and knowledge of the US-Zionist scheme in the region."
