After meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki in Tehran on Tuesday, former Prime Minister Omar Karami called on all countries in the region to work together to "save Lebanon from sectarian sedition." Karami also emphasized Iran's role in ensuring security and stability in Lebanon.
Karami said that some in the media were trying to encourage sedition, and that the opposition was working hard to remedy the situation.
Mottaki said that implementing the agreements, which had already been reached between factions in Lebanon, was of the utmost importance and would bring security, stability and development to the country.
Earlier in the day, Karami met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
