CNN Did Not Do Its Homework Well Regarding Hezbollah! Or Did It?
By Fatima Haydar
Beirut – In an interview with Lebanese Interior Minister Raya El Hassan, the American television channel CNN, might have made a slight mistake – which could pass by unnoticed.
Although one might consider the mistake as trivial, the gravity of the situation implies two things: was the mistake honest, or was intended to take public opinion off its course?
During the interview clip, a long line of military vehicles baring yellow flags pass by, as if parading military capability. However, it is enough to take a glimpse at the flags, to directly figure out that they weren’t Hezbollah – the Lebanese Resistance group – flag; on the contrary, they were the flags of Iraq’s Hezbollah Brigades or the Kataib Hezbollah, who fought the Wahhabi Daesh [Arabic acronym for “ISIS” / “ISIL”] terrorist group and expelled them out of Iraqi territories.
It is worth mentioning that Hezbollah was founded in Lebanon in 1982 as a resistance movement against the “Israeli” occupation; the Hezbollah Brigades on the other hand was founded in Iraq in 2003 as a resistance movement against American aggression on Iraq and the Takfiri terrorism posed by US-backed Daesh.
Now, we are left with a single thought: It’s America which always seeks to sow discord; and this mistake is a mere slip of the tongue that lays bare what happens behind the international media’s closed doors!
