“It’s not over until it’s over,” South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in warned on Sunday after a small outbreak of coronavirus emerged in the capital city of Seoul.

Meanwhile, South Korean officials ordered nightclubs and bars temporarily closed after a fresh burst of transmission linked to an entertainment district in Seoul.

Officials said there appeared to be multiple origins for the cluster, with Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun adding they are struggling to trace "thousands of people" who visited the area.

South Korean officials reported 35 new cases Monday, taking its total to 10,909, after recording only single-digit increases for eight of the preceding 12 days -- many of them overseas arrivals.

Moon warned South Korea that a second wave of coronavirus could happen late this year.

Five new coronavirus cases were reported on Monday in China’s Wuhan city - where the virus first emerged in late December 2019 - the first cluster since a lockdown was lifted a month ago.

Meanwhile, Southeast Asia has also seen an increase in virus cases.

In Singapore, the health ministry on Monday said it had confirmed 486 new coronavirus cases, taking its tally of infections to 23,822.

Malaysia’s Health Ministry reported 70 new coronavirus cases Monday, bringing the total number of infections to 6,726. The health ministry also reported one new death, taking the total number of fatalities to 109.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in December, the coronavirus has infected 4.1 million people worldwide, with at least 282,872 dead, according to a Johns Hopkins University tracker.
