New Resignation in the WH: Communications Director Alyssa Farah Out

By Staff, Agencies
White House communications director Alyssa Farah announced she is resigning from her position in a statement Thursday.
“It’s been the honor of a lifetime to serve in the Trump administration over the last three and a half years,” she said, noting that she was “leaving the White House to pursue new opportunities.”
Farah joined the administration as Vice President Mike Pence’s secretary before serving as the Miltary Department press secretary. She was the youngest person to serve as the Pentagon’s spokesperson at age 30.
The White House brought her back to its communications team in April after the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, replacing Stephanie Grisham.
Farah said she was “honored to have worked with the entire team on Operation Warp Speed who helped usher in a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine in record time that will save countless thousands of lives.”
"I am deeply proud of the incredible things we were able to accomplish to make our country stronger, safer and more secure," she said.
Her moves come after keeping a fairly low profile after the November 3 elections, which President Donald Trump says were marred by fraud in key states. Farah’s stance contrasts with White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who has repeated Trump’s claims.
As Trump refuses to concede the elections to President-elect Joe Biden, Trump allies petitioned the Supreme Court Thursday to block the certification of election results in Pennsylvania.
Attorney General William Barr, seen as a close Trump ally, broke with the incumbent president on Tuesday and said there was no basis to election fraud claims.
