‘Israeli’ Police Chief Warns Of ’Worsening’ Trend of Violence Against Lockdown Enforcement Units
By Staff, Agencies
The trend of violence against lockdown enforcement police in the ‘Israeli’-occupied territories is on the uptick, Zionist Police Commissioner Maj. Gen. Kobi Shabtai said on Friday, hours after an attack on police officers by anti-lockdown protesters in Bnei Brak.
"The violence experienced by police officers during the various enforcement activities in recent days deserves condemnation and produces sights that we will not tolerate nor accept," Shabtai said.
"I expect the relevant authorities, public leaders and government ministries to toughen the sanctions against these institutional violations we encounter."
The Zionist Police said that a crowd of ultra-Orthodox Jews gathered in Bnei Brak overnight Thursday in violation of the lockdown rules and attacked a police vehicle on duty, hurling rocks, smashing windows and puncturing tires.
One police officer was lightly wounded.
Police arrested six men for disturbances to public order.
