Iranian President Hassan Rouhani confirmed on Wednesday that his country presented security, rule of law and tranquility to the world by the effective role it plays in the world arena.

“The world owes its today security and tranquility to the Iranian nation,” Rouhani said in an online speech on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Ceremonies to commemorate the occasion are being held nationwide by people riding motorcycles and driving cars due to the pandemic.

“The refusal of the great Iranian nation to resist the [US former President Donald] Trump administration and Iran's decision to leave the landmark nuclear deal after the US withdrawal would have led to Trump's victory but people's resistance and government's wise policies brought victory for Iran,” the Iranian president stressed.

In his remarks, Rouhani pointed to the recent Judgment of the International Court of Justice [ICJ] against the United States and said “The isolation brought to the US by Iran's resistance in the international arenas is a historic event.”

During his speech, he hailed the government's efforts to bring economic growth to the country which he said was over 14 percent four years ago and the highest in the world.

In parallel, the Iranian president said he is proud of his policy on talks. “Negotiation is a modern tool for a government to manage a country. If talks are held, they will be within the framework of national interests.”

“In the pandemic, Iran could "stand on its own feet," despite sanctions, media pressures, psychological war and military threats,” Rouhani confirmed.

Further, he said he bows down to the Iranian nation for their three-year patience and their resistance against the plots.

"Of course, the political path and the way of world agreement with Iran will be dialogue, and we'll be successful in this path."
