Lebanon’s COVID-19 Cases Low, New Jabs ’Marathon’ Announced

Lebanese health ministry reported 137 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths in the last 24 hours, as it said a walk-in Pfizer jabs "marathon" for over 50 will be held at the end of the week.
The cases were found after carrying out 14,666 tests, resulting in an average two-week positivity rate of 1.3 percent. The report also detailed that 90 infected patients were in hospital, with 47 in intensive care and 14 on ventilators.
The aggregate number of cases recorded is 544,002 alongside a total of 7,835 deaths since the virus was first detected in the country in February 2020. Out of the new cases, seven were identified among travelers arriving to Lebanon.
The Health Ministry report also showed that 16,537 first-dose coronavirus vaccines had been administered, raising the total to 842,283 individuals, or 17.7 percent of eligible people, who have now had their first shot since the vaccination process began five months ago. A further 5,855 second dose coronavirus jabs were also administered, taking the total of fully inoculated people to 413,754 or 8.7 percent.
