The total cases in Lebanon stands at 544,705, along with 7,848 deaths since the virus was first found in February 2020. The Health Ministry report also detailed that 100 individuals were in hospital with the virus, along with 53 people in intensive care and 16 on ventilators.
Over the last 24 hours, 14,146 first stage vaccines were administered, pushing the total to 932,332 or 19.6 percent of the population eligible since the rollout began five months ago. A further 11,920 second stage jabs were given, resulting in a total of 464,430 individuals, or 9.7 percent, who are now fully vaccinated in the country.
Lebanon has been enjoying a decline in the spread of the virus and as a result has reopened nearly all of society. However, health experts are heeding caution that as the country begins to welcome tourists and expats which risks spiking up cases and a new wave come autumn.
