Three Palestinians have been killed amid renewal of "Israeli" attacks on the Gaza Strip after a day-long truce between "Israel" and Hamas expired.
Clashes between "Israeli" forces and Palestinian resistance fighters left three fighters killed along the border fence in northern Gaza on Tuesday, "Israeli" media reported. The military also confirmed the death toll.
Meanwhile six Qassam rockets were fired from Gaza into the western Negev. The rocket attacks caused neither casualty nor property damage, "Israeli" daily Haaretz reported.
The clashes erupted once the twenty-four hour truce, which was declared at the request of Egyptian mediators between the Palestinian armed factions and the "Israeli" regime, expired on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, Hamas announced that the movement will consider a longer truce if "Israel" meets its demands over ceasing all military attacks on Gaza and lifting an embargo on the Gaza Strip.
"We demand that ‘Israel' respect truce conditions... in particular that it stop all form of aggression and open the border crossings," said senior Hamas official Mahmoud Zahar.
After the Palestinian factions declared another one-day ceasefire on Monday, Zahar said "this position would be extended if positive developments were found."
The previous six-month ceasefire, which expired over the weekend, called on "Israel" to ease Gaza blockade in exchange for halting cross-border clashes between "Israeli" soldiers and Palestinian fighters.
Under the previous six-month ceasefire, "Israel" was committed to ease Gaza blockade in exchange for a halt to rocket firings from the coastal region.
Tel Aviv however failed to ease the strict blockade on the coastal area.
