Egypt prevents surgeons from entering into Gaza Strip despite growing death toll
DAMASCUS - Hamas Movement has deplored on Monday the Egyptian government for blocking Egyptian surgeons from crossing into the beleaguered Gaza Strip to help their Palestinian comrades with the growing numbers of injuries.
In a statement it issued in this regard, and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC, Hamas urged Egypt to open the Rafah crossing point before Egyptian and Arab medical assistance donated to the Palestinian people.
Two Qatari planes loaded with medicine and other relief items were forced back to Doha after Egyptian authorities refused to permit them pass the items through the Rafah terminal.
According to Hamas, such Egyptian behavior raises a number of questions on the real reasons that push Egypt into act this unpatriotic way.
For its part, the International Committee of the Red Cross warned that the growing numbers of Palestinian casualties has put tremendous pressures on the hospitals in Gaza Strip.
"The ICRC expressed deep concern over the growing number of injuries in Gaza Strip as a result of the ‘Israeli' war on Gaza", the Committee said in a s statement it issued in this concern.
The ICRC also underlined that the international human law differentiates between civilian targets and military targets, and that heath centers, hospitals, and workers of the health sector should be protected.
Scores of Palestinian children and women were killed in the "Israeli" attacks that, according to events on the ground, would continue further.
