60,000 Jordanians march for Gaza

At least 60,000 Jordanians marched to a sports stadium for the largest rally in decades by the Muslim Brotherhood to express solidarity with Gaza.
The protesters who gathered at the capital city Amman's sports complex, torched "Israeli" flags and pictures of US President George W. Bush.
Many of them carried Jordanian and Palestinian flags as well as pictures of top leaders of Hamas, and chanted "Gaza, we are your people and your soldiers," and "your blood is our blood."
Speakers at the Friday gathering, including leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood and other opposition parties, urged Jordan's King Abdullah II to "expel the ‘Israeli' ambassador and boycott ‘Israel' politically and economically."
Meanwhile Jordan's police fired teargas at thousands of demonstrators who were protesting "Israel's" attacks on the Gaza Strip after Friday prayers.
Friday prayer leaders across Jordan rebuked Arab governments, particularly Egypt, for their failure to come to the aid of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Worshippers chanting "No Zionist embassy on Arab land" headed to the "Israeli" embassy after noon prayers were they encountered riot police.
Scores of riot police blocking roads to the "Israeli" embassy complex fired teargas at the demonstrators. Several protesters were beaten and arrested by Jordanian police.
"Israel's" week-old air assault on impoverished Gaza, which is one of the worst ever attacks on Palestinians in60 years ago, has so far claimed 435 Palestinians lives, including 66 children, and has wounded 2,250.
"Israel" claims it has attacked the strip to stop projectiles fired from Gaza into occupied territories it holds. So far, six "Israelis" have been killed and 16 wounded in the homemade rocket attacks.
