Ezzeddine: Palestinians made a choice: Resistance ~ Negotiations with "Israel" will lead nowhere

Hizbullah Arab Relations Officer Sheikh Hassan Ezzeddine said "We define the correct time to make any step against ‘Israel', because any activity to help Gazans should be productive."
In an interview with New television on Sunday, he criticized the international community's response to the crisis in Gaza, saying it could not resolve any issue.
"Israel" did not respond to the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1860 and continued its war, he said, in reference to the resolution passed by the Security Council on Thursday in an attempt to end the conflict in Gaza. He added that UNSCR 1860 consequently "has no value."
"The United States' abstention from voting [on UNSCR 1860] is a slap in the face of all those who relied on the American administration," he added, as the US was the only nation that abstained, rather than voting for the Security Council resolution.
"If the ‘Israeli' offensive does not achieve its goals, both ‘Israel' and the United States will lose and their agendas will fail. This issue will lead to major changes in the region," he said.
"Some Arab regimes were relying on ‘Israel' but could not get anything and for that reason we reached this stage," Ezzeddine said, adding that the Egyptian initiative could not lead to a settlement.
He also criticized Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' speech delivered on Saturday in Cairo.
"The Palestinians made a choice: Resistance. The negotiations with ‘Israel' will lead nowhere," he continued, as he said only steadfastness and resistance could put an end to the Gaza crisis. He added that the Palestinian people benefited from Hizbullah's experience in the 2006 July War.
"I think that Iran is still being punished because of its stance toward ‘Israel'. Some parties also put pressure on Syria because of its support for the Palestinian people," he said.
Ezzeddine added that the Lebanese army was responsible for determining the identity of those who launched the rockets from South Lebanon toward northern "Israel".
