Hizbullah political bureau member Ghaleb Abu Zeinab hailed Qatar's efforts to hold an Arab Summit in Gaza.
"We do not understand at all why some Arab countries still think that the summit should not be held," he stated, a position which he said could not be justified.

After meeting with Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun at the latter's residence in Rabieh on Thursday, Abu Zeinab questioned whether a total collapse of the situation was what it would take for Arabs to take action on Gaza. Arab states and their people should admit to what was taking place on the ground in Gaza, he added, highlighting that it was in Lebanon's interest "on all levels" to take part in the Arab Summit and support any decision that helped the Palestinians.

When asked about Hizbullah's stance on a neutral parliamentary bloc, Abu Zeinab said parliamentary issues were secondary in light of more pressing issues. The Hizbullah official also confirmed his party would run for elections as part of a larger opposition with a general vision and which aimed to win a majority of seats in parliament.

And on the rockets launched from South Lebanon into "Israel" on Wednesday, Abu Zeinab said, "Our position is clear. There should be a condemnation of any 'Israeli' attacks on Lebanon. We should not allow 'Israel' to use any opportunity to attack Lebanon."
