GAZA - Palestinian legislator and Hamas' political leader MP Mushir Al-Masri has asserted that the "Israeli" "enemy" wouldn't enjoy calm if the Palestinians people were denied that right, adding that "Israel's" military solutions failed in subjugating the Palestinian people.

He added, "For the first time ever in the history of the Palestinian struggle against the Zionist enemy, the Palestinian resistance succeeds in achieving strategic equilibrium of fear as it put one million ‘Israeli' settlers within the range of its locally-made rockets".

Marsri's remarks were made during a political meeting on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena held in Jabalya refugee camp, north of Gaza Strip, on Saturday evening.

He stressed that the proposed truce stipulates the opening of all crossing points, lifting the unjust siege, and halting all forms of "Israeli" aggressions on the Palestinian people, adding that the truce was about be inked but political and partisan disputes in the Hebrew state aborted it.

"We want an honorable truce with new mechanism unlike the previous truce, and we have no objection to expand the umbrella of guarantors in order to ensure ‘Israel's' adherence to that truce", Masri pointed out, underlining that if the Palestinian people don't enjoy calm, then the "Israelis" won't enjoy it either.

On the file of captured "Israeli" soldier Gilad Shalit, Masri explained that this file has its obligations, and must be dealt with separately and within the framework of a prisoners swap agreement, adding that Shalit "won't see the light of freedom if Palestinian captives in ‘Israeli' jails were denied that light".

Moreover, Masri reiterated Hamas' keenness on achieving national reconciliation and restoring Palestinian unity, saying that national dialogue was Hamas's "strategic option", but he stressed that all involved parties must have the good intention and sincerity for that dialogue.

He underscored that releasing Hamas' political prisoners from the PA jails in the West Bank was an essential step to pave the way for that dialogue, emphasizing, "If (the PA in) Ramallah city released all political detainees in its jails, then we will go to the dialogue table even ahead of schedule".

As far as the Egyptian position on the "Israeli" disavowal of previous understandings on the calm is concerned, Masri said that Hamas and the Palestinian people expected Egypt to take strong action after the "Israelis" embarrassed it and foiled its efforts in this regard, but unfortunately, he added, nothing in this regard had been taken.

Finally, Masri highlighted that the exemplary steadfastness demonstrated by the Palestinian people and the resistance helped the Palestinian people emerge victorious in the battle of Gaza, stressing that the "Israelis" failed to achieve any of their declared objectives of the war on Gaza.

Thousands of Palestinian civilians had been killed and wounded, and tens of thousands of Palestinian homes were either completely or partially destroyed during the 23 day brutal "Israeli" aggression on Gaza Strip.
