Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri, continued to monitor field developments in the South in light of the ongoing “Israeli” aggression and violations of the ceasefire and UN Resolution 1701.
The attack escalated significantly on Monday, marked by heavy raids targeting several areas across the South—particularly Kaouthariyet El-Saiyad, Houla, Arnoun, villages in Iqlim al-Tuffah and the Mount Al-Rihan heights—resulting in multiple martyrs and injuries.
In this context, Berri held a phone call with Army Commander General Rodolph Haykal, during which he was briefed on the latest details of the “Israeli” attacks. He also extended his condolences for the soldiers martyred in the town of Braiqaa, as well as for the civilian martyrs.
Berri reaffirmed that the acts committed by “Israel” yesterday—and throughout recent weeks—represent a clear attempt to undermine Lebanon’s genuine commitment to the ceasefire terms. He stressed that Lebanon has fully abided by its obligations, while “Israel” continues to violate Lebanese sovereignty, target its people and disregard international legitimacy resolutions.
