Turkey and the United Kingdom have signed a new agreement aimed at boosting cooperation in the defense industry, marking another step in their growing strategic partnership.

The agreement, named the Turkey-UK Defense Industry Council [TUDIC] Specification, was formalized during a high-level meeting in London this week. The session brought together Turkish and British officials, including Haluk Görgün, head of Turkey’s Presidency of Defense Industries [SSB], Turkish Deputy Defense Minister Musa Heybet, and UK Minister for Defense Procurement Maria Eagle.

According to a statement by the SSB, the meeting was also attended by representatives from defense companies of both nations. It was held with the shared goal of expanding collaboration in response to evolving global security challenges and common threats.

Describing the move as “an important step,” the SSB emphasized that the agreement would enhance the strategic defense industry partnership between Ankara and London.
