Statement by the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc
The Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc held a session today, May 8, 2025, chaired by MP Mohammad Raad and attended by its members. The meeting discussed political, national, parliamentary, and regional issues concerning Lebanon and the region. The following statement was issued:
As the Zionist occupation escalates its aggressive actions against Lebanon—violating its airspace, carrying out killings, and targeting villages and residential areas including the southern suburbs of Beirut—under the watch of the UN oversight committee and UNIFIL, and with authoritarian backing from U.S. representatives, the Lebanese people remain steadfast in asserting their sovereign right to reject the occupation, denounce its aggressive practices, and reaffirm their national principles calling for its defeat. This rejection extends to any notion of coexistence, submission to blackmail, or acceptance of normalization projects with the usurping entity.
The Lebanese people are also determined to uphold internal security and stability, revitalize their political, administrative, and development institutions, and actively participate in the municipal and mayoral elections. The initial round of these elections was held successfully, offering hope that future stages across the country will proceed in a similar manner.
On another front, the Zionist genocidal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza continues and is gradually expanding to the West Bank. "Israeli" threats are also targeting Syrian unity, fueling tension, sectarian strife, and divisions—both psychological and territorial—while resistance continues in Gaza and across Palestine. National and pan-Arab positions reject the Zionist project, insisting on Syria’s unity and sovereignty to thwart the enemy’s goals.
Yemen has succeeded in proving the effectiveness of its support for the Palestinian people and its blockade of the Zionist entity to force an end to the siege and the genocidal war on Gaza. This has resulted in a U.S. position that has shocked the Zionist entity and inclined toward ending the imperialist aggression on Yemen.
The Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc reviewed these developments and concluded the following:
First:
The Bloc urges the Lebanese government to adopt a serious, clear, and assertive policy to hold powerful international actors—especially those claiming to be Lebanon’s allies—accountable. These actors must cease their support and justification of the Zionist entity’s ongoing aggression and its over 4,000 documented violations of Lebanese sovereignty, as recently confirmed by the commander of UN forces in southern Lebanon. The occupation also obstructs the return of displaced villagers, hinders the reconstruction of homes and infrastructure, and poses a constant threat to the country's security, all amid suspicious silence from so-called guarantor states.
Second:
The Bloc salutes the resilient and sacrificing Lebanese people and expresses pride in their awareness, patience, and commitment to foiling the Zionist enemy’s plans. They reaffirm Lebanon’s right to end the occupation and expel the occupiers, a right the people are contributing greatly to uphold.
The Bloc also praises the steadfastness and resistance of all Palestinian factions committed to the path of resistance in Gaza and Palestine, and appreciates the responsible conduct of Hamas leadership in cooperating with Lebanese authorities to avoid repercussions from individual actions and to safeguard Lebanon and the resistance.
Third:
The Bloc welcomes the successful completion of municipal and mayoral elections in Mount Lebanon and expresses pride in the high level of civic responsibility shown by voters. It appreciates the efforts of the Interior Ministry, security forces, and the presidential and governmental support. The Bloc hopes upcoming election rounds will proceed calmly and cooperatively, paving the way for local institutions to fulfill their developmental roles in a sovereign, strong, and just Lebanese state—one that safeguards the dignity of its people and stands firm against foreign interference and domination.
Fourth:
The Bloc notes the active launch of parliamentary workshops to discuss essential draft laws referred to the relevant committees in Parliament. It calls on the government to submit well-prepared legislation in a coherent manner. For example, the banking sector reform bill cannot be passed without being accompanied by a financial regulation bill, so that justice is ensured for depositors and responsibilities and protection mechanisms are clearly defined.
In this context, the Bloc hopes the government has taken the necessary time to thoroughly review the Judicial Independence draft law to avoid any outcomes that may harm the integrity and unity of the judiciary by allowing sectarian or partisan influence and undermining the justice owed to the Lebanese people.
Fifth:
The Bloc expresses its deep appreciation for the courageous and responsible brotherly stance of Yemen—both its leadership and people—for their unwavering solidarity with Gaza and Palestine, and for the pressure they have exerted to lift the siege and stop the genocide. The Bloc values Yemen’s willingness to bear the costs of Zionist and American retaliation, confident that perseverance in this path will bear fruit in due time.
Sixth:
The Bloc condemns the ongoing Zionist aggression against Syria and the occupation of more of its territory. It also denounces the systematic bombing and destruction of Syria’s military, economic, and security capabilities, as well as the blatant interference aimed at sowing division among its people and igniting internal strife. The Bloc stresses the need for Syria to avoid sliding into internal conflict, and hopes it can resume its role in supporting just causes across the region—chief among them the Palestinian cause.
