The Airports Authority of India [AAI] announced on Monday, the resumption of civilian flight operations at 32 airports that had been temporarily shut down amid rising military tensions with Pakistan.

The affected airports, located across northern and western regions of the country—including key hubs like Srinagar and Amritsar—had suspended operations from May 9 as a precautionary measure due to the escalating conflict. The closure came alongside heightened security measures and official Notices to Airmen [NOTAMs] issued by Indian aviation authorities.

Following a mutual agreement between India and Pakistan on Saturday to halt all military actions—by land, air, and sea—civil aviation authorities confirmed the reopening of the airports with immediate effect.

In its statement, the AAI advised passengers to stay informed by checking directly with airlines and monitoring their official websites for updated flight schedules and advisories.
