Sheikh Qassem: The Resistance Will Endure, ‘Israel’ Will Continue to Fail

By Al-Ahed News, Live Coverage
On the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the martyrdom of the great jihadi commander, Martyr Sayyed Mustafa Badreddine [Sayyed Zulfiqar], Hezbollah Secretary General His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem delivered a speech honoring the fallen leader’s legacy and reaffirming the enduring commitment of the Resistance.
He began by expressing solidarity with the martyr’s family and the wider community of Resistance supporters: “On this solemn anniversary, I extend my heartfelt condolences and congratulations to his honorable family, the steadfast people of the Resistance, and all who cherished him. I also offer my condolences for the martyrs of occupied Palestine, proud Lebanon, resilient Yemen, generous Iraq and dignified Iran.”
Recalling the early revolutionary spirit of Sayyed Zulfiqar, His Eminence highlighted the martyr’s role in historical milestones of the region: “Following the triumph of the blessed Islamic Revolution, Sayyed Badreddine actively participated in the celebrations of that historic victory”.
“While still under the age of nineteen, he took up arms to confront the Iraqi Ba’ath regime and stood at the forefront of the struggle,” Sheikh Qassem added.
He added: “From a young age, he was on the frontlines, resisting and confronting the ‘Israeli’ enemy with courage and unwavering resolve.”
The Hezbollah Chief paid particular tribute to Sayyed Zulfiqar’s critical leadership role in Syria: “For five years, he played a commanding role in Syria, where he went with conviction—dedicated to the Resistance and its righteous path.”
Condemning ongoing aggression, he asserted: “We firmly denounce the repeated ‘Israeli’ attacks on Syria and call upon the Syrian people—whose resilience will deny ‘Israel’ any chance of realizing its objectives there.”
Turning to the plight of the Palestinian people under occupation, His Eminence made clear that no force could extinguish their determination.
“Netanyahu will never succeed in stripping the noble Palestinian people of their rights. They have offered every sacrifice imaginable to preserve their dignity and national identity,” Sheikh Qassem stated.
Reflecting on Lebanon’s resistance legacy, he invoked the collapse of the 1983 agreement with the occupying entity: “The May 17, 1983 Agreement was overturned, marking the defeat of ‘Israel’s’ annexation ambitions in Lebanon.”
He added: “For years, the Resistance has served as a deterrent to the ‘Israeli’ enemy, preventing it from executing its plans to seize Lebanese territory.”
He further emphasized the achievements of the Resistance in protecting national sovereignty. Sheikh Qassem said, “The Resistance thwarted ‘Israel’s’ attempts to impose degrading agreements on Lebanon. It denied the enemy the ability to fulfill its objectives or enforce its agendas.”
Reaffirming the guiding principles behind the Resistance’s path, His Eminence stated: “We adhere to the path of truth and dignity—not submission. Our struggle continues to defend Lebanon and its people, and the enemy has consistently failed to accomplish its goals.”
He also spoke of the symbolic power of leadership and martyrdom, saying, “On this path of sacrifice, we hold up the example of our Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. His willingness to offer his life is a beacon for us—a light by which the Resistance remains strong and unwavering.”
His Eminence stressed that perseverance would lead to even greater strength. He said, “As long as the Resistance remains steadfast, the enemy will lose hope in undermining our resolve. We will continue to rise in dignity, power and honor.”
Highlighting the enemy’s violations, the Hezbollah Chief drew attention to the ceasefire breaches, stating, “Since the ceasefire was declared, ‘Israel’ has violated it more than 3,000 times—demonstrating its contempt for agreements and international norms.”
He cautioned that the struggle is not limited to the battlefield: “Today, ‘Israel’ seeks to dismantle the Resistance through continuous political pressure and aggression, hoping to achieve what it could not accomplish through war.”
Calling on Lebanese authorities to act decisively, he urged, “The Lebanese state must adopt a stronger stance and respond more forcefully to ‘Israeli’ violations of our sovereignty.”
His Eminence continued with a clear message to those who believe they can marginalize the Resistance saying, “Those who think they can sideline the Resistance or act unilaterally are gravely mistaken.”
And with unwavering conviction, he affirmed: “You have failed to remove us from the equation—and you will continue to fail. No component can be isolated. You will not achieve through pressure what you could not through war.”
The Secretary General of Hezbollah continued his address with a resolute affirmation of the Resistance’s unwavering principles and its enduring confrontation with the enemy’s schemes.
“We stand with the logic of truth, not submission,” the Resistance leader declared, “and we shall persist in our resistance in defense of Lebanon and its people, without allowing the enemy to accomplish its objectives.”
Reflecting on the sacrifices made along the path of struggle, His Eminence added, “On the journey of resistance and martyrdom, we have offered the Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and his potential martyrdom as a guiding light for us to carry on, and for the Resistance to remain unwavering.”
He stressed that the continued strength of the Resistance is the cornerstone of Lebanon’s defense. “When the Resistance endures with power,” he stated, “the enemy will lose hope in overcoming our determination and resilience. In turn, we will attain even greater dignity and honor.”
The Hezbollah Chief exposed the persistent violations of international agreements by the occupying entity. “‘Israel’ has breached the ceasefire agreement over 3,000 times since it was declared,” he said. “It now seeks to dismantle the Resistance not only through direct aggression, but also via ongoing political pressure.”
Calling on national institutions to act, he asserted, “The Lebanese state must rise to the occasion and confront ‘Israeli’ violations with greater resolve and strength.”
The SG dismissed any notion of isolating the Resistance, underscoring the futility of such endeavors. “Anyone who believes they can marginalize the Resistance and act independently is deluded,” he said. “You have not succeeded in removing us from the national equation, and you will not succeed. No party can be excluded, and what you failed to accomplish through war will not be achieved through pressure.”
Addressing those aligned with the occupying entity, the Hezbollah leader warned of the internal damage they cause. “The servants of ‘Israel’ have wrought destruction across Lebanon. They operate by undermining their own allies and by fueling internal strife,” he said.
Contrary to these efforts, the Resistance leader emphasized that Lebanon is on the path to calm and recovery. “Lebanon today is advancing toward stability,” he stated, “and those obstructing this course are none other than ‘Israel’ and its ongoing acts of aggression.”
He reiterated the importance of upholding agreements, stating: “‘Israel’ must adhere to the commitments it made under the ceasefire. As for internal discussions, they remain among us—we have no dispute with the President of the Republic or with any components of Lebanon’s domestic affairs.”
Directing a message to the supporters of the Resistance, His Eminence emphasized the proven strength and preparedness of the Resistance. “Experience on the battlefield and in the post-ceasefire period has demonstrated that we are firmly grounded and capable of thwarting threats and the enemy’s ambitions,” he affirmed.
To those who align themselves with the occupying entity, he issued a stark warning: “The collaborators of ‘Israel’ carry a shameful legacy, and their instigation of sedition has devastated Lebanon. By your actions, you inflict harm upon this nation.”
He then outlined the key priorities moving forward: “Our immediate obligations are to end the aggression, stop the violations, liberate the occupied territories, and secure the release of prisoners. It is the duty of the Lebanese state to employ every available means to realize these goals.”
Turning to post-war responsibilities, the Resistance leader called upon the government to act swiftly. “Reconstruction is a national obligation, and I urge the government to prioritize it in the agenda of its very first session,” he said.
Reflecting on the recent civic engagement in Lebanon, His Eminence noted the resilience of the people. “The municipal and local elections have demonstrated the Lebanese people’s enthusiasm for state-building,” he stated. “We were among the first to advocate for holding the elections on time.”
He further praised the success of collaborative political efforts. “We achieved victories in numerous towns, particularly in the Mount Lebanon region, through our cooperation with the Amal Movement and our pursuit of consensus,” he said.
Concluding his remarks, the Secretary General lauded the steadfastness of the Yemeni people. “I extend my congratulations to Yemen for its triumph over the United States and for remaining a shining example of solidarity with Palestine,” he declared. “Yemen has succeeded in compelling America to halt its aggression and continues to deliver blows to the enemy entity.”
