Martyrs of the Resistance: Raisi and Abdollahian’s Unwavering Stand for Palestine

By Mokhtar Haddad
It was one year ago today that Iranian President Sayyed Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were martyred. Supporting the Palestinian resistance remains their top priority and defining legacy.
Among those martyred with them were: Friday Prayer Imam and Representative of Imam Khamenei in Tabriz Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Al Hashem; East Azerbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati; Presidential Protection Unit Commander Brigadier General Sayyed Mehdi Mousavi; pilots Colonel Sayyed Taher Mostafavi and Colonel Mohsen Daryanoush; and technical officer Major Behrouz Ghadami.
Abdul Mahdi: We Now See the Legacy of Raisi and Abdollahian
Free people and resistance fighters came to know the martyred President Raisi and the martyred FM Abdollahian as “the President of the Axis of Resistance and his Foreign Minister”, or they carried the concerns of the peoples of the region—especially Palestine and Gaza—and became the voice of the oppressed in every international forum. Whether during their official visits or diplomatic communications, Palestine remained at the core of their priorities until the final days of their blessed lives.
Speaking to Al-Ahed News about this aspect of their character, former Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said:
“These two great figures were truly remarkable. They were steadfast, faithful, and fulfilled their duties with full dedication. We can still see the lasting impact of their tireless efforts, especially in their unwavering support for the Palestinian people and the people of Gaza”.
Al-Arian: The Blood of These Leaders Has Blocked the Path of the Zionist Scheme
Palestinian academic and former director of the Center for Islam and Global Affairs [CIGA], Dr. Sami Al-Arian, told Al-Ahed:
“The Islamic Republic has offered some of its most valued leaders—among them the martyr President Raisi and the martyr Abdollahian—both of whom had firm stances against the Zionist entity and unwavering support for the Palestinian people and the Resistance”.
He added:
“Likewise, martyrs such as Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, senior Hamas official Saleh Al-Arouri, the movement’s leader in Gaza Yahya Sinwar, and many other top Palestinian Resistance figures, as well as Hezbollah, which has given the martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and many of its leading commanders”.
Al-Arian emphasized:
“All these noble sacrifices are proof of the existence of an authentic Axis of Resistance that opposes the Zionist crusade of genocide,” warning that, “This Zionist entity is determined to dominate, instill chaos and divide the region”.
He concluded that only the blood of these leaders and their unbreakable will—one that does not yield to Zionist domination—can stop such agendas.
