Statement of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc
Date: May 22, 2025

The Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc held its regular session on May 22, 2025, chaired by MP Mohammad Raad and attended by its members. The bloc discussed several political, parliamentary, municipal issues, as well as matters concerning Lebanon, Palestine, and the region. The following statement was issued:

The occasion of Resistance and Liberation Day, on May 25, reaffirms—without any doubt—that the choice of resistance has borne the blessed, fruitful tree of victory. It has yielded the precious triumph of liberating the land from the filth of occupation and restored to our beloved Lebanon the meanings of dignity, sovereignty, and independence after nearly two decades under occupation—a time during which international resolutions and UN Security Council meetings failed to deter aggression or recover any occupied land. These remained mere ink on paper, repeated by tongues and pens while years and days passed with no glimpse of hope, until young men rose, believing in their God and their country. They resisted the enemy, sacrificed their pure souls and precious blood to liberate the land, safeguard national dignity, and draw an honorable picture of immense sacrifice, noble selflessness, and human valor.

Today, as additional parts of the homeland are under occupation following the latest ongoing Zionist aggression, and in the face of the international community and guarantor parties’ failure to enforce the mechanisms of Resolution 1701—while Lebanon has fully adhered to it—the agreement grants Lebanon and its people the right to defend their land and sovereignty, reaffirming the legitimacy, necessity, and effectiveness of resistance.

On the occasion of Resistance and Liberation Day, the bloc extends its highest congratulations and blessings to its sacrificing people, honoring the victory achieved through the hands and sacrifices of the resistance fighters, and the patience and steadfastness of their families. We pray for mercy and elevated ranks for the martyred leaders and fighters, and offer congratulations to their families, as well as the families of the wounded and freed captives. The bloc reaffirms its commitment to continue efforts to free the remaining captives and uncover the fate of the missing during the latest aggression.

The bloc also emphasizes that, in preserving Lebanon’s sovereignty and reinforcing the path of liberation from aggression and occupation, it is crucial to reject all forms of submission and normalization with the occupying entity, and any attempts to justify or legitimize its assaults.

Beyond Lebanon, the brutal and relentless Zionist crimes continue through genocidal warfare and forced displacement attempts against the people of Gaza, alongside persistent aggression on the West Bank and other occupied territories. In this context, the bloc states the following:

  1. The bloc reviewed the results of the municipal elections in Bekaa, Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and the North, expressing deep satisfaction and pride in the resistance's supporters and allies. Their positive engagement with the national duo confirmed their unwavering loyalty to the resistance’s path. This is not surprising from the people of the Bekaa, Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and the North—who have always shown loyalty and commitment in every critical moment.
In particular, the residents of Beirut, through their advanced awareness and honorable commitment, proved to be a safety valve and a guarantor of balanced coexistence in the capital, reinforcing their full belief in national unity.
As the elections in the South approach, the bloc looks forward to the support of our dear people and allies to crown this municipal phase with a decisive victory that serves the people by contributing to reconstruction and development, keeping these areas resilient in the face of aggression and deprivation.

  2. The bloc calls on all Lebanese officials to act with awareness, courage, and a clear understanding of national interest, free from U.S. pressure and its unwavering bias toward Israel at Lebanon’s expense.
The bloc stresses the need for the government to hold the U.S. administration accountable for ensuring a ceasefire and to confront it over "Israel’s" continued occupation, sovereignty violations, and daily assassinations—the latest of which occurred yesterday in Aitaroun, Yater, and Ain Baal. It is also essential to demand that the aggressor stop actions that prevent the Lebanese from rebuilding homes and institutions destroyed by the expanding Zionist assault.

  3. The Arab and international abandonment of the people of Gaza amidst the escalation of genocidal Zionist warfare is a disgrace to humanity, and the international community—in all its institutions, countries, and complicit governments—is responsible.
This abandonment reflects a complete detachment from the most basic human and moral values, and it threatens the remnants of international charters and norms, essentially legalizing the law of the jungle in Palestine, the region, and the world—endangering global peace and security.
The bloc hails the legendary steadfastness and heroic battles of the resistance fighters in Gaza and the West Bank, emphasizing the duty to support their cause and people, to condemn the Zionist aggression, and to apply maximum pressure to halt the genocide and the attempted liquidation of the Palestinian cause.

  4. On the occasion of the inauguration of the new Pope Leo XIV, the bloc sees a hopeful opportunity for the leader of the Catholic Church to play a leading and influential role in supporting the oppressed and vulnerable, serving the poor, and voicing justice, love, and truth in a time dominated by tyranny, global oppression, and racist settler-colonial injustice.

  5. The bloc expresses deep sorrow at the state of the Arab nation during the visit of former U.S. President Donald Trump to the region. His visit has exposed shameful weakness and complete submission by rulers to a greedy investor looting the region’s wealth. Governments are drinking from the cup of humiliation without regard for sovereignty, racing desperately to please an insatiable American extortionist, seeking favor or fearing punishment.

  6. Among the most painful and disappointing scenes was the Arab Summit in Baghdad. What was hoped to be a unifying event around Palestine, the central cause of Arabs, Muslims, and humanity, instead turned out—with some notable exceptions—to be poorly attended by top leaders and yielded results far below the aspirations of Arab peoples or the seriousness of current challenges.
The bloc, however, appreciates the efforts of Iraq’s leadership, government, and people for their honorable support in rebuilding Lebanon and Gaza, and expresses sincere gratitude for their generous initiative.

  7. Finally, there remains in this nation a wellspring of goodness, pride, and dignity. History will remember dear Yemen, its brave people, the Ansar Allah movement, and its steadfast, courageous leadership for rejecting and resisting the genocide in Gaza and the Zionist-American attempts to eliminate the Palestinian cause. Their escalating support for Palestine—including tightening the blockade on Israeli ports and bringing Haifa under siege until the aggression ends—is deeply valued.
The bloc highly appreciates these honorable, proud stances, and extends its warmest salutations and utmost pride in such noble positions, which should serve as a model for all nations, peoples, governments, and leaders of the Arab and Islamic world.
