Head of Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammad Raad said the atmosphere in Lebanon was "calm and optimistic," adding that his bloc was keen to wisely and firmly treat matters in order to avoid any future attacks on the Lebanese army.

Raad headed on Wednesday a delegation, including MPs Ali Ammar and Hussein al-Hajj Hassan, which visited President Michel Suleiman in Baabda and discussed recent domestic and regional developments. Raad told reporters after the meeting that it "was an overview of the upcoming parliamentary elections and what should be done concerning the pending state budget and the administrative appointments."

Raad also said that Suleiman promised to provide all Lebanese with their needs based on the principle of equal development for all regions. "The atmosphere was very reassuring," Raad said.
He denied discussing with Suleiman the recent crisis between Hizbullah and the Egyptian authorities.

Raad said that the majority was responsible for not maintaining the MPs quorum during the legislative parliamentary sessions, adding that the opposition was determined to provide the people's vital needs. "The ball is in their court," he said.

Raad also said that the Lebanese army and the Resistance were cooperating in the investigations on Monday's ambush of the army in Riyaq. "Hizbullah refuses any attack on the Lebanese army," he said.
