Hoss to Al-Manar: Egyptian Accusations Are Badge of Honor

Lebanon's former Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss criticized on Sunday the Egyptian claims against Hizbullah over backing its Palestinian brothers, recalling of the national role the Resistance party has played, since its creation, in the Arab-‘Israeli' conflict.
Speaking to Al-Manar, Hoss noted that the Egyptian accusations should be considered as a "badge of honor" not only by Hizbullah but also by all Arab citizens who consider the Zionist entity their enemy.
"Providing our brothers in Palestine with assistance and support is not a charge but rather a badge of honor and glory for Hizbullah," Hoss said. "Instead of assaulting the Resistance, Arabs should praise Hizbullah and Sami Chehab for their achievement," he emphasized.
Turning into Lebanese politics, Hoss was asked about Prime Minister Fouad Saniora's nomination in the forthcoming parliamentary elections to represent Sidon, believed to be the Capital of the South. "I'm against this candidacy," Hoss declared.
The former PM noted that it would be better if Saniora did not run for the elections and remained at the head of a neutral government that could manage the elections as required.
"Yet, there is another reason for objecting to Saniora's nomination. It's my adherence to the position of MP Oussama Saad and the role he has always assumed in Sidon," Hoss added.
